• Executive Function Coaching

Executive functioning incorporates several mental processes involving the main areas of working memory, flexible thinking, and self control. With coaching support, executive function skills can be developed and enhanced; these skills include initiation, planning and organizing, prioritizing, time management, impulse control and self-monitoring. Executive function coaching often includes study skills, focusing strategies, and how to be an efficient learner. Alex carefully balances her work with clients to address current issues at hand (i.e. an upcoming test), while also building life-long executive functioning skills and tools.

  • ADHD Coaching

With a focus on executive function skills, ADHD coaching addresses differences in how the ADHD brain works. Starting with areas of strength, Alex works together with clients to build skills, address challenge areas, and improve knowledge and understanding of the ADHD brain. From building routines to improving organization and time management, ADHD coaching can enhance functioning in all areas of life including school, work, home, and relationships.

  • Parent Coaching

Whether it is ADHD, other neurodiversity, or regular conflict within your household, parent coaching can help parents better understand the needs of their children and build a calm household based on strong connections to one another. We often parent from what we know and how we were raised, but with Alex’s support through parent coaching, you can build new habits and create a toolbox with strategies to ensure your household is a place of calm and comfort for your entire family.

Sessions take place over Zoom and are tailored to the client. Parent sessions are typically one hour in length, while student sessions may be shorter to better accomodate varying abilities to focus. In certain situations, in-person coaching may be available to those in Northern Virginia.
